Management Team

VectorLink's management team combines extensive experience in the telecommunications and computing industry, with successful entrepreneurs having joined VectorLink from a number of leading telecommunications and Fortune 100 companies including: International Business Machines (IBM), General Electric (GE), AT&T, Johnson and Johnson, Sprint Corporation (Sprint) and Hughes Aerospace. The team has also played key roles in the startup and success of emerging telecommunications carriers like Teleport Communications Group (TCG), Intermedia Communications (Intermedia), and Logix Communications (Logix).
William J Hoffman
Chairman of the Board & Co-founder
Mr. Hoffman co-founded VectorLink in January 2000. Prior to this, Mr. Hoffman built and served as the president and chief operating officer of Logix Communications Enterprises (LCE). LCE, a holding company for Logix Communications, that provides wholesale "carriers-carrier" DWDM transport, business-to-business ISP services, integrated voice and data services, and regulated ILEC service through Dobson Telephone, a 60 year-old regulated Rural Exchange Company (RLEC). Mr. Hoffman grew Logix to $120MM in sales, 800 people, and 65,000 access lines, making it one of the largest CLECs in the country. Mr. Hoffman was also employed by Intermedia as division vice president-Florida from 1995 to 1997, where he grew the company's fiber-optic network and customer base and oversaw the creation of the largest competitive local phone and data service provider in Florida. From 1987 to 1995 he worked in numerous positions in sales, marketing and management with Sprint's Business Services Unit. He was a Captain in the U.S. Army in Europe working in military intelligence from 1983 to 1987. Mr. Hoffman holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from Auburn University. Phil Dempsey
President
Phil has over 15 years of Senior Management experience in Sales, Operations, Finance, and distribution in the communication industry. Phil's experience over the last 10 years has been with T.I.C. Enterprises, a national sales and marketing company that specializes in outsource sales solutions for the communication industry. In his current role Phil is the Senior Vice President and General Manager for the company. T.I.C. currently focuses on representing premium carriers such as BellSouth, SBC, PacBell, Qwest, and Nextel for network and wireless services. Phil's previous responsibilities with T.I.C were to build their Nortel Networks Division as a national systems integrator, and to start their Nextel Division as a National Authorized Representative. Prior to joining T.I.C, Phil served as Territory Manager for AT&T in Eastern North Carolina. In this position he was responsible for sales and service for their General Business Division. Phil holds a BA in Political Science from the University of South Carolina. Michael Dempsey
Vice President of Sales & Marketing
Mr. Dempsey brings over 20 years of Sales and Marketing experience to the VectorLink team. Starting out at AT&T, Mike worked in supporting advanced business communications systems for more than 15 years. Mike continued following the Technology systems with a move to Lucent Systems soon after the AT&T split. Most recently Michael built a successful National Agency supporting NexTel Communication's services. In under 4 months, Michael developed, and implemented a sales program that created a revenue stream of $750,000 annual revenue. Scott Hoffman
Director of Technology
Scott Hoffman has sixteen-years experience in engineering, management, sales, marketing and operations across multiple industries. Scott has spent the last three years in California's silicon valley building a global network, operational support systems, and marketing plans for UltraDNS, an Advanced Directory Infrastructure provider to the internet industry which runs the .org and .info TLDs (amongst others). His efforts were critical to the online stability of such Internet properties as: Hotmail, Oracle, Bluelight.com, TheGap.com, OldNavy.com, Levi.com and Vehix.com, .Info, .Org. Before that, Scott was a Director with Logix Communications, where he was responsible for the technical support for all products offered by the CLEC: including Voice Services, DSL servcies, Frame Relay Servcies, and Broadband Internet. to
